After the imprisonment of the previous South African President, Jacob Zuma, by his one-time ally and successor, widespread protests in his house state of KwaZulu-Natal turned lethal.
Over every week of riots and looting, the town of Durban was left in flames. VICE World Information goes inside South Africa’s descent into chaos, witnessing the dimensions of the craze and destruction.

Would have liked to hear from more of the rioters.
For all the foreign folks out there here is a little education:
"Oke" is a person (mainly male but in the context they used it in the clip – it pertained to both m and f (binaries and non-binaries and all the rest))
Now let me educate you on something else:
330 people died during these riots, that number is very small compared to the thousands murdered on a monthly basis.
@1:16 when the mfwetu (brother) says it is not about race, well I would disagree, the country has one of the most openly racist regimes in the world.
Oh wait you say the racism is against white people, so that is not racism, then I say grow a brain. They have "Black Empowerment" laws which tax companies if they hire white people, wtf is that about?
The international community throws money at the country with very little regulation. The money goes straight into the politicians pockets and the world turns a blind eye.
I've seen children dying on the street in SA, witnessed hijackings, been in the house when we were robbed, I stopped 2 boys from being killed by their own father but his life had been completely derailed because he could not find work (he was white). He had lost his mind and was going to kill his family, thankfully I managed to get them out, almost being stabbed in the process, I got lucky and managed to dodge the knife and run with his kids in my arms to my house, but what if I wasn't there? That family would've died and been forgotten.
This entire tragedy could've been avoided in a country that is so rich in natural resources. It's truly sad to see where SA is going. I am glad I grew up there but I'm also glad I'm not there anymore.
The "Rainbow Nation" is the biggest farce ever – what a gag.
End of the day it's the kids who suffer the most (380 schools burnt down). They are innocent! Why should they loose their schools?
Until the racism truly stops there will always be trouble.
11:00 why is there batman..?
This is decades of rage, despair. First apartheid, then corruption from those you trust.
People do not usually destroy things that are good.
Thank God there is hope in Jesus Christ.
Lol! This is a joke right?
A multiethnic, multi religious, multi colored country is nearly impossible, remember the rainbow only shines when it rains the same as with South Africa it's all peace only until the economic situation is good.
this is what europeans think america is like lmao
2 Thessalonians 2:5-7 (NKJV) 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (NKJV) And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Ex
