MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has rejected Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut‘s request in search of an exemption till July 7 citing a busy schedule. The company issued a second summons for Friday to file his assertion in a cash laundering case.
Raut, who’s being probed in a cash laundering case linked to properties acquired by his spouse and associates, failed to show up on the ED’s zonal workplace in Ballard Property on Monday. As an alternative, he wrote to the central company asking for an exemption from questioning till July 7. The ED declined the request and issued a second summons for Friday.
The ED is investigating two separate cash laundering instances towards Dewan Housing Finance Company Ltd and Housing Growth and Infrastructure Ltd teams together with individuals related with them. Amongst paperwork seized within the two instances, the ED mentioned it has discovered entries believed to attach Sanjay Raut to the businesses.
Raut has sought to color the central company’s motion as a politically motivated transfer geared toward curbing his actions amidst the disaster in Shiv Sena. Raut referred to as it “a conspiracy to cease me.”
