HI CHINA…..rest of the world see you are not sane. we will treat you accordingly
In Phillipines, the president ordered them to shoot drug dealers, no trials.
So China is supposed to close one eye to the crime of this Canadian drug smuggler. China also have their laws too…
Canadian government thinks it can play a silly game with China. Think again !
It is so stupid to smuggle drugs in Asia.
What is he thinking ? That the law did not apply to him ?
That his government will come to his rescue ?
Very misleading reporting stating the Shellenberg was sentenced to 15 years but after Mengs arrest was changed to death .
He was given 15 years in nov 2018 .He himself was not happy with the verdict and appealed .Now everyone knows that you get death for drug smuggling in China any Chinese citizen would get death .
So obviously China went easy on him because he was Canadian and wanted to have good relations with Canada.
Unfortunately for him when his retrial came around Canada had just given China the big middle finger and he got what he should have received in the first place
Why connect the two Michaels with a drug smuggler death sentence . This is really a sly move from the news to increase more hate toward a country . If you go to Thailand or Singapore or Malaysia with drugs it’s the same fate . Even USA Japan got capital death .
Dear Chinese government: please don't be hesitate to punish any drug dealers from any countries of anyways you want to. With love from Vancouver!
Death sentence is justified and fair for drug trafficker. The one who doesn't agree must consume 500gr for all his / her family, so we can see how fairness applies when all of them become addicted to death.
Some 🐒 who like those 222kg drugs in comments, god will be with you and your family in no time.
To those who says let him go, if you have anyone in your family has drug addiction, what will you think about the drug dealer. To just kill him and save so many people , it is a super deal
Canadian spies are NOT welcome, same as USA spies !
Canadians spies MUST be punished !! … 15 years is too low
Failed to compete on the table, those losers are using their pirate traditions. By intentionally detaining the daughter of an 80 years old man, to stop his fast growing hi-tech company, a private company to create millions of jobs here in Canada and in the world, a company to build communication between human peoples for better understandings. This is 100% political torture, bully and attack by the big countries toward a private company and a female individual.
If Schellenberg is payback or hostage for Meng Wanzhou, China needs to grab more Schellenbergs. It takes a whole lot of meth dealers to equal one CFO of a strategically important Global 500 Company.
Don’t keep saying Canadian, Canadians are no difference from any other people including pay capital penalty if you committed the crimes. It’s a shame to keep blaming others while Canada is doing stupid between the two world powers.
YOU PLAY WITH FIRE YOU GET BURN – SIGN AT THE AIRPORT CAUGHT DRUGS TRAFFIC PROSECUTE PUNISHMENT HANG BY DEATH, DON'T EVER BREAK THE LAW IN MOST COUNTRY LIKE CHINA, BRUNEI, SINGAPORE, MALAYSIA, INDONESIA, PHILIPPINES, THAILAND, MIDDLE EAST EVER CAUGHT FOR DRUGS CHARGES ARE EXTREMELY OFFENSIVES & HIGHLY ILLEGAL
I can see clearly what will happen —No way will Meng be extradited –the chinese and canadians will use back channels and our ambassador to hammer out a deal before the winter olympics to have her released and the 2 michaels deported . I hope the americans will provide generous compensation to these two innocent pawns who have spent 1000 days in a chinese prison just so they can extradite a woman who has done 1 /100 th less criminality than Donald John Trump. This is all so farcical it would be funny were not innocent lives so badly affected.
This is such an important case because this is both legal and political. China insisted that the arrest of Meng is political and it has a very strong evidence. The significance of the legal aspect of this case is the "law of judicial precedence." The decision of this case will be a reference to future conflicts between cross border travelers and border security agents. The decision of the case in favor of Meng could limit the power of border securities. But Canada is in dire situation here. It cannot extradite Meng without losing those three Canadians in China. It's clear that China wants prisoner exchange. But Canada is stock on its extradition treaty with the US. Also deporting Meng to China could have some effect on Canada's relationship with the US.
How much more immigration can Canada handle? The place looks like a third world. Even immigrants complain.
Canadians not safe in China? Is he saying all Canadians are drug dealers? What a stupid statement from a government official! You go to a country and you obey its laws, China is very hard on people that are involved in drugs, its known by the world that you could get executed when caught, the guy knew that and did it anyway. The 2 Michaels are a result of the Canadian government stupidly doing what the US says and not think about the outcome. Trudeau needs to be removed from office!
Do follow the Chinese laws
Drug dealers must be sentenced to the laws of the country
That Canadian was already convicted in Canada for drug related charges! In the Philippines he would be shot in broad daylight. He would have been dead long time ago.
This is good news , all drug dealers shall be sentenced to death.
Just curious, how Canadian government deal with drug dealer?
Master/Ph.D. holders with top-notch IELTS scores, also under 30 years of age with high tech experience Federal Skill Workers are waiting since December 2020 for DRAWS despite Canada has reached Vaccination targets and opening borders, 😥😢 @marcomendicino
After the review by the police and the public prosecution authorities, dalian intermediate people's court ruled that the defendant, shrenberg, had organized and participated in an international drug trafficking activity, smuggling meth 222.035kg with others, and his behavior had constituted a crime of drug trafficking. Therefore, according to the relevant provisions of the criminal law of the People's Republic of China, the defendant sherrenberg was sentenced to death and confiscated all his personal property. After the verdict, however, the Canadian criminal was unhappy with the result and appealed. After receiving the appeal, the higher people's court of liaoning province formed a collegial panel according to law and decided to hear the case publicly. It is understood that during the second instance, the court provided the appellant sherrenberg with the corresponding guarantee, so that he had the right to participate in litigation in his own language, and after listening to the defense opinions of the defender, he hired two translators for him. In this period, considering the nationality of the appellant, the court also allowed officials, deputies to the Canadian embassy in China, deputies to the NPC and other people to participate in the audit, and the whole process was aimed at openness and transparency. In fact, the matter itself was not particularly unusual, but during the trial, foreign media questioned the Canadian citizen's trial. A spokesman for the eu's foreign action agency issued a statement that on the death penalty judgment made by the local court of China on xie rengra, the European side believes that the trial is too strict and calls for lenient treatment of the People's Republic of China. It is hoped that China can suspend the execution of the death penalty. After all, most eu countries will not make the death penalty judgment on criminals under any circumstances. To this end, a spokesman for the Chinese mission to the European Union said that drug crime was a serious crime recognized all over the world and would cause great harm to society, so all countries should crack down on it. China is a state of law. The main purpose of the decision to retain the death penalty is to deter all kinds of criminals. Judicial organs will strictly comply with Chinese laws and handle different criminals in accordance with the law when hearing cases, and will not be affected by any nationality. In this case, the Canadian schlenberg and many people engaged in international drug trafficking activities, the relevant investigation procedures are reasonable and legal, and the evidence is very sufficient, so his behavior has directly constituted the crime of drug trafficking, there is no problem of misjudgment or decision. However, in response to the eu's arbitrary interference in China's internal affairs and judicial sovereignty, China expresses strong opposition and will not accept the eu's proposal, and hopes that the eu can face the reality, respect China's judicial sovereignty and stop making inappropriate remarks.
US: you are on your own.
Canada: please get me out of this political hell hole.
China: what happened?
I'm so glad the news is on YouTube now
if somehow this drug suggler is released and goes back to Canada he would be a Saint and start criticizing China for its human rights issue and how strict it is with laws etc…
