The Finance Ministry on Tuesday mentioned it has launched about Rs 13,386 crore to 25 states for offering grants to rural native our bodies (RLBs).

Tied grants are launched to the agricultural native our bodies (RLBs) for bettering two providers — Sanitation and upkeep of open-defecation free (ODF) standing and provide of consuming water, rainwater harvesting and water recycling.

“The Division of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, has on Monday launched an quantity of Rs 13,385.70 crore to 25 States for offering grants to the Rural Native Our bodies,” the ministry mentioned in an announcement.

This grant-in-aid is the primary instalment of Tied grants of the yr 2021-22. The grants have been launched as per the suggestions of the fifteenth Finance Fee.

Tied grants are supposed to guarantee the supply of further funds to the agricultural native our bodies over and above the funds allotted by the Centre and states for sanitation and consuming water underneath the Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

The states are required to switch the grants to the agricultural native our bodies inside 10 working days of their receipt from the Union Authorities. Any delay past 10 working days requires the state governments to launch the grants with curiosity.
